A Simple Solution For Riders Who Need A Bike

One of the things we discovered after running the Paris Dakar Challenge was just how much interest there is from riders outside the UK.

For many overseas riders, getting a bike to the start of the challenge is often the biggest obstacle. Shipping a motorcycle across the world is expensive, time-consuming and complicated. Buying a bike in the UK and then trying to sell it again afterwards is not something most people want to deal with either.

Previously we solved this problem by providing PDC bikes on a hire basis.

Unfortunately, obtaining suitable insurance for this type of arrangement has become increasingly difficult and is now no longer commercially viable. Rather than simply remove the option altogether, we looked for a way to continue welcoming riders from overseas while avoiding the insurance issues that come with motorcycle hire. 

The result is the PDC Bike Option.

How It Works

The PDC Bike Option is available to a maximum of 4 riders.

For an additional £5,500, we will provide a fully prepared Honda CRF300 Rally. We then guarantee (subject to T&Cs) to buy it back for £3,000 after the trip meaning your total cost should be £2,500.

The motorcycle becomes yours. This is not a hire bike. You own the bike and are responsible for it throughout the challenge in exactly the same way as riders who bring their own motorcycles.

We will prepare and store the bike before departure, have it ready for you at the start of the challenge and provide enhanced support throughout the trip due to the fact that all PDC bikes are the same model.

• Honda CRF300 Rally
• UK storage before departure
• Full pre-trip inspection
• Service before departure
• New tyres before departure
• Common CRF300 spare parts carried by the support team
• Return shipping from The Gambia to the UK
• Optional guaranteed buy-back scheme

Why The Honda CRF300 Rally?

The bikes used for the PDC Bike Option are our own Honda CRF300 Rallys from the 2026 challenge. All are 2026 models and have approximately 4,500 miles on them.

Having completed the full Paris Dakar Challenge route, we have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them for the challenge again. In our opinion, the CRF300 Rally is the best motorcycle for this type of adventure by a considerable margin.

During the 2026 challenge the bikes proved:

• Extremely reliable
• Comfortable on long road sections
• Excellent off-road
• Easy to handle in sand
• Economical to run
• Simple to maintain
• Suitable for riders with varying levels of off-road experience

If we were choosing a bike specifically for the Paris Dakar Challenge, this would still be our first choice.

What Happens After The Challenge?

At the end of the challenge you have three options:

1. Keep The Bike

The bike is yours and you are free to keep it, collect it from the UK or make your own arrangements.

2. Sell The Bike Yourself

You are welcome to arrange your own sale if you wish.

3. Guaranteed Buy-Back Option

If you would prefer a simple and predictable exit route, we offer a guaranteed buy-back option. Provided the motorcycle has not suffered major accident damage or been declared beyond economical repair, we will buy the bike back for £3,000. 

This means your maximum cost of using the bike for the challenge should be £2,500.

• Do not want the cost and complexity of shipping a motorcycle internationally
• Do not want the hassle of sourcing a bike in the UK
• Want a motorcycle that is already prepared and proven for the challenge
• Want a simple and predictable buy-back option afterwards
