Thinking of Joining the Paris Dakar Challenge — But Don’t Want to Go It Alone?
If you’ve been looking at the Paris Dakar Challenge and wondering “but I don’t have anyone to sign up with” — you’re not alone.
In fact, every single rider booked so far for the 2026 trip is coming on their own. They don’t know each other yet. Some have never done a trip like this before. Some are seasoned travellers. What they have in common is a sense of adventure — and the decision to take that first step.
We hear it all the time: “I want to do it — but I don’t want to be the odd one out.” And every year, those riders discover exactly what this trip is all about. By the end of the familiarisation day, you’ll already know faces and names. By the end of the first week, you’ll have shared stories, road miles, and some proper laughs. By the end of the trip… well, you’ll have crossed a continent together. And that sticks.
The Paris Dakar Challenge is a team of strangers who don’t stay strangers for long.
A trip made for solo riders — Especially less experienced ones
This isn’t a race. It’s a challenge — and it’s designed for riders who want to push themselves, but who don’t necessarily have years of off-road experience. That’s why we make sure the group stays small, with a maximum of 10 riders.
Of the riders signed up so far, they’re from all sorts of backgrounds. Some have done big overland trips. Some have done very little off-road riding before. The one thing they all have in common is they’re giving it a go. And that’s exactly the spirit we look for.
We know how it feels to worry you won’t be good enough. We’ve built this trip with that in mind. The off-road sections are designed to be progressive in difficulty, but achievable for determined novices. The desert crossing in Mauritania will be tough for the less-experienced off-roaders, but there are alternatives if you want them. And there’s always backup — with a support vehicle, a trip leader, and a group of people all in it together.
This Trip is a Challenge — But It’s Doable
We’re upfront about this: it’s a big trip. It’s not a walk in the park. But it’s doable. If you’ve got a sense of adventure, bike handling skills, and the determination to keep going, you’ll be fine.
We’ve had riders who doubted themselves at the start and came away with memories — and friendships — that will last a lifetime.
You Don’t Have to Have a Mate to Join — You’ll Find Mates When You Do
If this trip’s been on your radar but you’ve held back because you didn’t want to go it alone… this is your sign. We’ve still got a few places left. And right now, you’d be joining a crew of solo riders — a mix of experience, backgrounds, and abilities. Just how we like it.
Drop us a message if you want to chat. No pressure. No hard sell. And maybe this will be the adventure that changes everything.
